What I don’t really understand is how I could configure the printer when my Pi is headless. I am not an expert on the Pi, but I’ve been chasing this printer for a different reason. And apply only to CP printer? HP is compiling your results. Distance has been a problem and I may just be able to fix it when I am actually sitting in front of the machine as the OP is new to Ubuntu and a things get lost in translation trying to explain from kms away. I suspect it’s overwhelming the USB with the current the printer needs. Better than that you don’t need to go to sourceforge to download hplip. As mentioned, I got over to Melbourne, downloaded the latest HPLip and followed the instructions for installing. Please make a different selection, or visit the product homepage. This is very annoying. On Linux, color disalignment is too big, especially the yellow color. Unfortunately, I didn’t do anything other than just plug it in and print so I can’t tell you a work around.
